How to use it
- Type or paste your entries in the Entries box, one per line. You can also import a .txt or .csv file.
- Press Spin or click the wheel. It slows down and stops on a random entry.
- Close the result, remove the winner or spin again. Every result is listed in the Results tab.
A fair draw, every time
The winner is decided before the wheel starts turning, using the cryptographic random generator built into your browser, the same kind of randomness used for passwords. The animation then stops exactly on that entry. Every entry has the same chance unless you give it a different weight.
Type a name twice and it gets two slices, so twice the chance. To change the odds without duplicates, open Weights and chances and set a number for each entry: the box shows the exact percentage.
Ideas for a name wheel
Teachers use it to pick who answers next or who helps today. Streamers run giveaways with it, families decide who does the dishes, and friends settle where to eat. Turn on Remove the winner after each spin and nobody is picked twice until everyone has had a turn.
Save it, share it, show it full screen
Press Save to keep a list in this browser and open it again from the Saved tab. Share copies a link that contains the whole wheel, so whoever opens it sees the same entries, with no account needed. For a classroom screen or a stream, Full screen shows just the wheel and the Spin button.
Questions and answers
Is the wheel really random?
Yes. The result comes from your browser’s cryptographic random generator before the animation starts, and every entry has the same chance unless you set weights. The animation only shows the result; it does not decide it.
How many entries can I add?
Up to 1,000 entries of up to 200 characters each. With many entries the text gets smaller and very thin slices hide their label, but every entry stays on the wheel and can win.
Can I remove the winner after each spin?
Yes. Press Remove in the result window, or turn on Remove the winner after each spin in Settings. Removed entries are listed in the Results tab, where Put them back restores them.
Are my lists saved? Can anyone else see them?
Your current list is kept in your own browser, so it is still there when you come back. We don’t store it on our servers. If you press Share, the list is written inside the link, so it travels with the link to whoever you send it to.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. The wheel fits any screen and you can tap it to spin. On a phone, Share opens your phone’s share menu so you can send the wheel in a chat.
